Please join the AAUW Washington Online Branch for a VIRTUAL panel discussion on January 24, 2023, at Seattle time zone 8:00 -9:30am.
In honor of US Mother’s Day in May 2022, the Pew Research Center coalesced data around working moms that validated much of what many working moms already knew – the pandemic exacerbated an already difficult balancing act of juggling family, career, and life. However, this data was collected in the US. What about in other countries? How did ongoing challenges for working mothers collide with new pandemic hurdles – was it a perfect storm, or do other national and cultural contexts provide different mechanisms to support mothers?
The Panel will explore perspectives of working mothers across the globe, reaching across cultures, borders, and sectors, to understand how policy, family dynamics, societal expectations, and socioeconomic factors present both challenges and opportunities to achieving gender parity in the workplace.
Our panelists include.
- Christine Condo, Executive Director, Sustainable Growers, Kigali, Rwanda
- Nesrine Halima, Senior Director, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Clients & Markets, PwC, Dubai, UAE
- Turid Elisabeth Solvang, Founder & CEO, FutureBoards AS; Member of Expert Advisory Boards, Bords Impact Forum, Oslo, Norway
