AAUW began as an organization to open doors for women to pursue their goals of higher education. Today, those doors have expanded to include:
- Providing grants and fellowships to women for research projects or degree programs
- Hosting the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL)
- Advocating for educational equity
AAUW branches in Washington State:
- Provide local scholarships to female undergraduate and graduate students
- Support young women 7th graders attend STEM summer camp TechTrek
- Partner with colleges to hold Expanding Your Horizons conferences
- Engage with their local colleges and universities through AAUW’s C/U partnership program
