Agenda:
- 9 am Check-in (coffee and social time is 9-10 am for those who spend the night or arrive early)
- 10 am Program begins
- Welcome by Emily Hitchens, AAUW-WA president, and Dr. Melissa Hill, vice president of Academic Affairs at Heritage University
- Overview and history of Heritage University by Dr. Kathleen Ross, SNJM
- Katrina Sun Breeze and Deborah McCall will join us remotely to explain AAUW’s College/University Partnerships.
Box lunches
- Brittany Gregory, director of the WA State Women’s Commission
- Workshops including membership engagement and retention, Adelante STEM Program at Heritage, Public Policy planning for 2025-2026
- Open Forum
- Wrap-up and acknowledgements
Friday evening activities:
- The Toppenish Murals, a vibrant collection of historically themed murals and outdoor art in Toppenish WA. These murals, painted by local, regional, and national artists, represent the diverse culture of the city and surrounding area
- Wine tasting at Bonair winery, additional fee of $20
- Yakama Nation Cultural Center -$4
- Group dinner at hotel – on your own
Accommodations
For those wanting to arrive on Friday, room reservations can be made at Legends Casino Hotel in Toppenish, just minutes from Heritage University. Double queen rooms are available for $134 plus tax. Call the hotel, 509-865-8800 ext 5244, and use booking code BKG1412.
