Members generally join through their local branch.  This allows them to become members of the national and state organization, too.  In some instances, a potential member may join AAUW as a National Member, rather than as a branch member.  National Members can become members of the state organization (without belonging to a local branch).  AAUW-WA also has an online branch for members who wish to be a part of a virtual group.
